BOOK REVIEW #42
Leadership — Writing in his familiar voice - a New Yorker's bluntness, leavened by his passion for ideas - Rudolph Giuliani demonstrates how the leadership skills he practices can be employed successfully by anyone who has to run anything. After all, until the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center pushed him into an unwanted role in history, Giuliani was only months away from leaving office with a reputation as one of the most effective mayors New York had ever seen.
I picked up this book casually on my way into a bookstore... to add to those which i would peruse. I quickly found myself thoroughly engrossed in this extremely lucid and extraordinarily frank account of Rudy Giuliani's mayoralty. -- Sheila from NYC

Jack: Straight from the Gut — Neutron Jack's directness is legendary, as is his passion for business. It's hard to think of a CEO that commands as much respect as Jack Welch. Throughout his 40 years with GE, and especially in his 20 years at the helm, Welch was always on the move, prodding the lumbering bureaucracy to become lean and responsive. Although this is undoubtedly about 'big' business, there's a lot a small business owner can learn. GE, in some respects, is a huge collection of small businesses. But this book is about Jack Welch, the gutsy boss who forged a unique philosophy and an operating system that relies on a "boundaryless" sharing of ideas, an intense focus on people, and an informal, give-and-take style that makes bureaucracy the enemy.

Everybody Wins: The Story and Lessons Behind RE/MAX – RE/MAX was founded over 30 years ago in Denver, Colorado, based upon a revolutionary idea for a new system of selling real estate. This is an inside look at one of the world's most successful real estate companies. Authors Phil Harkins and Keith Hollihan reveal how RE/MAX has achieved such phenomenal success to become a network of over 100,000 agents in more than 50 countries. Although they include sagas of near bankruptcies and other crises, the book focuses on absorbing storytelling, not statistics or metrics. We cheerfully recommend this peppy saga. Managers will find it refreshing and instructive to read about people who attribute their success to loyalty, collegiality, hands-on leadership, and the ability to work and play hard - Rolf from Lucerne, Switzerland)

BOOK REVIEW #50
Secrets of Power Persuasion: Everything You'll Ever Need to Get Anything You'll Ever Want – In this book, every page has something to offer, and and it's all unique. What I expected was either a complete rip-off or that only a small bit of it would be useful. I was very surprised at how satisfied I was with it. Among all the techniques in there I've found a lot that can be used in every day life. It explains a lot about persuasion techniques you've came across but didn't recognize as such, and opens your eyes to an entirely new world of persuasion altogether.
All in all, this book is very professional and offers tons and tons of content. The authors life, which he uses ocassionally for examples in his techniques, shows how amazingly successful he is without it seeming like he's bragging.
