The author packages his material as one long narrative story. With the lessons applicable to sales, teaching and even parenting, though, this book is a motivational morsel. As with all books, there is nothing new inside it's pages, but this book offers such a fresh, understandable, useable and simple approach it is highly recommended.

The First National Bank of Dad — *Apr.2006 RELEASE* — Teaching children about money can be easy, but most parents make saving seem like a punishment and force their children to view reckless spending as their only choice. To most kids, a savings account is just a black hole that swallows birthday checks. Instead, the author uses a Quicken program with a high interest rate - 5% per month - to show kids that the more they save, and the longer they hold it, the more they are able to spend. The author deftly proves his main idea: that children became savers because he created a system that rewarded them for spending less than they earned.

The Company: A Short History of a Revolutionary Idea — That humble Victorian innovation, the joint-stock company, has become everything from a local corner shop to the giant corporations of today, but it has never been the subject of a major study. With their trademark authority and wit, Economist editors John Micklethwait and Adrian Wooldridge reveal the company to be one of history’s great catalysts, for good and for ill, a mighty engine for sucking in, recombining, and pumping out money, goods, people, and culture to every corner of the globe.

The Brand Gap: How to Bridge the Distance Between Business Strategy and Design — At last a book about branding by an experienced designer. Someone who understands and explains it simply, in a commonsense way without a need to impress their business school friends. If it's guidance you require, as opposed to theory, this is the book you should be reading. Unlike many business tomes that read like consultant voodoo, this one is authoritative, practical and as gratifying to look at as it is to read. If you need to understand branding, you need this book.
